RV Activities: More than Just Camping Article from Campers RV CenterWhen people think of an “RV”, they often imagine a group of people camping. But there’s so much more to RVs than this! RVs are incredibly versatile vehicles capable of many types of adventures. We gathered up our favorite camper activities to suit all interests below. For all your travel trailer needs, visit Campers RV Center. We proudly serve those in Shreveport and Bossier City, Louisiana.

Attend a Festival

Many festivals occur throughout the year. They range in every topic under the sun from cultural festivals to art festivals. Usually, festivals last more than one day. This means you’ll need to spend the night somewhere nearby. Because of the increase of tourists to the area, lodging prices will skyrocket. Avoid paying for an incredibly marked-up hotel and spend the night in your travel trailer instead. You’ll need to book in advance as the trailer camping spots will fill up fast.

Host a Tailgating Party

An RV is the perfect venue for hosting a tailgating party. Wait outside the stadium in comfort. Guests can skip the long lines for dirty public restrooms and use your camper bathroom instead. Food can be prepared and stored fresh in your kitchen. People can put their feet up in your living room and watch the latest predictions on your trailer TV. If bad weather flares up, people can retreat inside. Your travel trailer offers everything you need to tailgate in comfort and in style.

Go on a Creative Retreat

A camper is able to head out deep into nature in the most secluded campsites - this is also the best place to get in touch with your creative side. Many people find that nature inspires their creativity. It helps to escape the noise of phone notifications, traffic, and other distractions of urban living. Take your trailer out into nature and spend some time engaging in your favorite creative pastime. Snap some photographs. Sit by a babbling brook and write poetry. Practice yoga with the mountains in your landscape. Dedicate the day to creative expression and enjoy a comfortable night’s sleep in your RV at night.

Search for Vintage Treasures

Towns of all shapes and sizes host events like flea markets, vintage shows, and antique festivals. These tend to bring together numerous vendors, making it a great spot to hunt down one-of-a-kind antiques. Many of these events occur in towns a drive away. Take your travel trailer to a campsite nearby. Shop all day and sleep comfortably at night. Make it into a fun shopping weekend by hitting up outlet malls and thrift stores along the way.

Go on a Fishing Trip

Many of the best fishing spots are a road trip away. It may be too far to drive all the way there, fish, and drive all the way back in one day. But it can be a manageable weekend excursion if your camper is capable of towing a small fishing boat. Fish all day. Grill your catch over the open campfire. Then curl up inside a comfy travel trailer. Get up with the sun the next day and repeat!

Your travel trailer is capable of many types of adventures. But before you hit the road, make sure it’s ready for a long-distance ride.
